Anodyne Therapy Launches
Mobile Pain Relief for Low Back Pain
TAMPA, FL – February 5, 2008 - Anodyne® Therapy, LLC announced today the introduction of a new wearable heat therapy device specifically for the treatment of low back pain. Heat therapy is one of the recommended treatment strategies for low back pain and muscle spasm, but until now, no electrically powered device has been available to provide cycling heat therapy during physical activity. Anodyne Therapy OTG Back uses Lithium Ion battery technology to deliver 30 minute bursts of therapy separated by 20 minute cooling cycles over a 5 hour period to optimize the effectiveness of heat therapy. The device can be worn comfortably during virtually any activity, allowing patients to obtain pain relief during normal activities without being tethered to an electrical outlet.
“We believe our On the Go Products will revolutionize how thermal therapy is delivered and help millions of people experience relief from disabling low back pain” said Craig Turtzo, CEO. “Tens of thousands of patients are treated each year with Anodyne Therapy technology – many for back pain. The OTG Back cycling therapy offers a significant technology leap in our delivery mechanism, allowing patients to obtain hours of pain relief during activity rather than short therapy sessions during periods of inactivity. We are extremely excited about this product which is only the first in our new line of On the Go Mobile Pain Relief products.”
OTG Back was developed by Anodyne Therapy, LLC, the manufacturer of Anodyne Therapy, the market leader in infrared photo therapy devices. Treatments with Anodyne Infrared Therapy are available nationwide at nearly 6,000 outpatient therapy facilities, hospitals, teaching institutions, nursing homes, physician offices and home health agencies. Products are also available for convenient home use and have been prescribed by over 11,000 physicians. For more information, visit www.mobilepainrelief.com
